Therapy Services

1 | Eating Disorders and Disordered Eating

I have experience working with adults, college-age students, and teenagers who are experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, or those who just generally want to improve their relationship with food and their bodies. Whether you are experiencing restriction, binging, caught in the cycle of restricting and binging, experiencing mental noise around food, or cycles of shame about your body - you deserve to have a better relationship with food and your body. In therapy, we will focus on clarifying your values, building mindfulness skills, and practice ways to learn to accept and notice your emotions and thoughts without letting them lead to harmful behaviors. We will work toward building a life that feels fuller and help loosen the grip of food rules, self-criticism to create space for lasting change.

2 | Perinatal and Postpartum Therapy

Parenthood can be an overwhelming experience — from sleepless nights, loss of identity and sense of self, to adapting to an entirely new way of life — it can feel lonely and challenging. You are told this will be the “happiest time of your life” but you may find yourself feeling isolated, ambivalent, or overwhelmed - an incredibly normal experience. You are a parent, but a human first, with your own emotions, needs and desires — you deserve a space to explore these experiences without judgment. I work with new, and expecting, mothers and parents who are experiencing perinatal challenges including anxiety, depression, critical or anxious thoughts, body image concerns, and those having difficulty adapting to a new way of life.

Together, we will work on coping with the emotional complexities you may be experiencing during this time, defining your identity and sense of self, building your self-confidence, quieting anxious or critical thoughts, navigating changes in your relationships, and helping you feel more at ease within yourself and your body.

3 | Body Image

In therapy, we will work on helping you develop a more flexible and compassionate relationship with your body - rather than trying to force yourself to feel confident or positive all of the time. We will work on using mindfulness skills, engage in values exploration, and explore practical skills to help you move from body shame and criticism to respecting your body and feeling more connected with what really matters to you.

4 | Depression and Anxiety

Anxiety and depression can feel overwhelming, affecting your thoughts, mood, and daily life. Our work together in therapy will provide a supportive space to better understand these experiences and learn practical ways to cope. Together, we'll identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build skills to manage difficult thoughts and emotions, learn tools to help you experience more physical relaxation, and reconnect with what brings you meaning and balance.

5 | Life Transitions

Life transitions can feel overwhelming and lead to uncertainty. In our work together, we will process the unique life changes you may be experiencing — whether that is navigating career or school stress, changes in your relationships, losses you are experiencing, or just generally feeling lost in your current phase of life. We will develop tools to help you cope with the uncertainties, fear, and self doubt that can accompany these transitions and help you develop more clarity in order to pursue your next steps.

"Being human is not about being any one particular way; it is about being as life creates you - with your own particular strengths and weaknesses, gifts and challenges, quirks and oddities."   -  Kristen Neff
