Hello! My name is Emily

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the New Orleans area. I am licensed in both Louisiana and Texas and provide virtual therapy in TX. I would describe myself as someone who puts passion and care into everything she does, so helping you through this process will be treated the same way.

I primarily work with clients who are healing their relationship with food + their body, coping with difficult life transitions, and navigating the anxieties and complexities of being a young person in this world. I am a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist and provide trauma informed care.

My qualifications

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Louisiana. I graduated from Louisiana State University with my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2018. Since then, I have practiced therapy in various settings including at the intensive outpatient (IOP) and inpatient settings. Prior to opening my practice, I was working with clients pursuing recovery from eating disorders at the inpatient level of care.

My values

One of the practices I implement in therapy is helping individuals gain a better understanding of their core values. When we are living according to our values system, we achieve a greater sense of meaning and connection in our lives.

Some of my core values that inform my therapeutic style are openness, genuineness, empathy, honesty, and respect.

As a body-image therapist, I know how all-consuming thoughts about how you look can be. My work in this area is based out of the Health at Every Size movement, which promotes body-neutrality, anti-diet culture and fat positivity. Diet culture is a large concept, and the specific importance it has had in your life matters. It is important to me that we consider all parts of your experience.
